Spy Garbo

Well I'm just about to go into rehearsal/tech for Spy Garbo; a gigantic co-production between 3-Legged Dog and Affinity Theater Company.

Last count was 28 projectors, a huge curved surround screen and an Eyeliner...yikes!

We have a fantastic crew though - video designers are myself, Peter Norrman and Jeff Morey...a dream team! ;)

A Scent of Time

Just got back from Beijing where I was designing video for Yin Mei's latest dance piece 'A Scent of Time'.
Working in China was quite an experience - some challenges along the way, but the results were well worth it and the show was a great success!

Here are some stills from the show, which will be coming to New York in May 2011.

The Human Scale official opening

The Human Scale had a very successful official opening last night (caviar and champagne!) at 3LD and runs through October 31st.

The show I'm designing with The Public and 3LD, directed by Oskar Eustis, is close to opening at the New Yorker Festival...crunch time!

Last show at The Ohio

I just finished work on my first show at The Ohio Theater...which was also their last show ever...
It was great fun, albeit bittersweet. I got to turn the 6 columns into giant gas flames and then lava-lamps for the party!
They are going to be continuing at my home base, 3LD, under the banner 'Ohio Interrupted' so all is not lost!
Here are a couple of photos (thanks Piama!) of the closing party and the empty space. I could promise to post some video but we all know that's not going to happen, right?

Oh and here's a review of the show & after party. They were actually feathers but whatever...!

"In the final moments of the piece, six projectors projected images of ash or torn paper falling down the six columns that so define the stage at the Ohio. It was a brief but beautiful and sad image that spoke to the mood in the room."
